A fun read! Great premise!
I had never read a lion-shifter book before, so I was intrigued by the premise from the start. The author did an excellent job creating the world of the shifters and showing how they functioned as a secret part of society. Living a dual existence can be complicated, and Mac is reluctant to let anyone get close (especially a human/non-shifter) and see his vulnerable side. Zora has to decide if she loves Mac enough to become his mate for life – while earning the respect (and trust) of his shifter family. I liked this book – the story held your interest with just the right balance of drama, action, and steamy love scenes. I’d recommend this to readers new to the shifter genre or anyone looking for a unique love story. (I hope the series continues – I’d like to see Mac and Zora in more wild adventures!)
